Saint Vincent College’s student Environmental Awareness
Club will host its first event on the issue of extraction of shale gas and its
impacts on public health and the environment at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 at the
Fred M. Rogers Center on the campus of Saint Vincent. Admission is free and
open to the public; no pre-registration is required.
Fracking and Your Health: Public Health Perspectives will
be presented by Greensburg physician Dr. Ralph Miranda who will moderate a
panel discussion featuring Nadia Steinzor of Earth Works, Raina Rippel of
Southwest Pennsylvania Environmental Health Project and Linda Headley, a leased

The speakers will address impacts of fracking and how citizens can protect
