First Prize Winner of the 2012 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, Julia Bullock, soprano, will be performing on the Saint Vincent College Concert Series on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 8 p.m. in the Robert S. Carey Student Center Performing Arts Center.
Soprano Julia Bullock sings “with dramatic involvement, a full, very beautiful voice, and charisma” (NewYorkArts.net). As a rising star, Ms. Bullock has toured South America as “Pamina” in Peter Brook’s Award-winning A Magic Flute; and China, singing with the Bard Music Festival Orchestra. She has also performed contemporary works at the Ojai Music Festival and the MUSIC ALIVE! Series. This season she performs with the Juilliard Opera, the New York Festival of Song at the Caramoor Festival, the Cecilia Chorus and Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, and with the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society at the Kimmel Center. She will also be making her Washington, D.C., debuts at the Kennedy Center and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany. Ms. Bullock was a participant of the Artists-in-Training program with the Opera Theater of St. Louis, and is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and Bard College’s Graduate Vocal Arts Program. She currently studies at the Juilliard School with Edith Bers.
