We are pleased to present the regional premiere of this newly-published farce!  In 1932, America’s Prohibition laws have turned Niagara Falls, Canada into a hotbed of bootlegging and smuggling.  Upright restaurateur Irving Bubbalowe and his lovely daughter Honey have shunned the money to be made through crime, however, and have sunk their life-savings into their gourmet eatery: Chateau Bubbalowe.  They have even hired the world-famous singing chef Francois LaPlouffe to run their kitchen.  On the day of their grand opening, however, LaPlouffe goes missing, threatening the restaurant’s very existence.  Desperate, Honey persuades an unemployed short-order cook, Frank Plunkette to masquerade as LaPlouffe.  Meanwhile, one of Chicago’s most notorious gangsters, Alfonse Feghetti shows up in search of a shipment of liquor that has mysteriously found its way to Bubbalowe’s basement.  An immigration officer, the beautiful but business-like Veronica Snook shows up to charge LaPlouffe with subversive activities.  And a tenacious, teatotaling Mountie shows up ready to charge anyone with anything.  To keep his restaurant in business and himself out of the hands of both the mob and the law, Bubbalowe and his friends must resort to an ever more complicated series of deceptions and schemes.  Mistaken identities, masquerades and misunderstood conversations all combine in classic farcical fashion - complete with a happy ending, of course.  Don’t miss this new, side-splitting entertainment!
